Most change tools start from problems. This one starts from a future you actually want. Research on backcasting, the method used here, shows that beginning from a clear, specific image of a desired future produces more creative and committed pathways than starting from what's wrong today. When you can see where you're going, the first step becomes obvious.
The backcasting phase asks you to stand in the future and look back. This is not imagination for its own sake. It is a structured technique for bypassing the cognitive trap of "what seems possible from here."
The final step, your first seed, follows the same implementation intention logic as the rest of this series: specific, small, and named. A seed planted today.
